I did the original design for www.youthforwildlife.org a few months ago… let’s just say I have learned alot. I was getting embarrassed to put it on my designed sites list because I knew I could do better. So, I did.
The old site was running several different softwares to accomplish a forum, eNewsletter and a news section. The new site, two soft wares that work together. This site is run by WordPress with bbPress running the forums. But with the same registration, login, design and cookies, one cannot tell that there are two sites.
The real advantage that WordPress gives a site is the ability to add and edit pages and articles to the site without having to deal with any html or ftp clients. This site can be edited on the Internet with anyone given access to. Plus, it’s all run out of a database so doing stuff like calling the recent news on the homepage is a breeze!
With a new server and back end, I figured it was due for a new design as well. My last design was in tables and subpar at best. The new design is (almost) xhtml and css compliant (it will be soon). More impotantly, it looks soooo much better. The slideshow on the front page still makes me smile every time I see it.
So, poke around, register and enjoy. Please feel free to leave me comment or suggestions as a comment to this post.

Looks good. WordPress is really good software, and I think it’s cool how you’ve brought all the technologies together.
I used to write all of my websites by hand (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.), but I realised that was stupid when writing updated content, so I just chose WordPress.com hosting. Man, I’m sounding like an ad. Good work.
